German for T.Y. Students

Transition year is an ideal year to develop language skills as students do not have the stress of exams and school life is a little more easy going. Learning in a relaxed environment where students can learn to enjoy German, to be able to use the language in everyday situations will make students more confident with the language and prepare them for the senior cycle.

Students –

• – talk about personalities/interests/hobbies with role plays/games
• – discuss countries and climates with podcasts/videos
• – develop vocabulary with fantastic learning aids
• – talk about likes and dislikes, food/movies/fashion with project work
• – can participate in an exchange to a German school in June 2016

All students get a German penfriend with whom they have regular email contact to develop writing skills, this helps students to understand that German is a language and not only a subject at school.
